The Lancashire Family History & Heraldry Society provides many facilities for its members.
We have two Research Centres, one in Oswaldtwistle and one in Chorley, both equipped with a library and computers with Internet access together with helpful volunteers to assist with your research.
For those living further afield we offer a Helping Hands Service accessible by post and e-mail. This service is a network of over 50 individual volunteers and access to Society and Branch resources. Help is provided for worldwide research and not just Lancashire.
For those just starting out or those needing help in a new area of research we offer a Mentoring Service by e-mail.
The e-mail Forum provides instant access to other knowledgeable members who can help with queries on family and local history. Members have been helped in knocking down brick walls and finding where their ancestors lived.
Many of our members have shared their Surname Interests on the website. Have you checked to see if someone else is already reseaching your ancestors? It is a very small world.
We offer help in a variety of forms.
But can you help us? Our membership subscriptions can only provide us with so many facilities and every day brings new sources of records we would like to offer.
If we have been able to help you then maybe you could consider either becoming a member, if you are not already, or perhaps making a donation to the Society. There is an option to do this online through the shop using a credit card or alternatively cheques payable to LFHHS can be sent to the Society Treasurer. All donations will be gratefully accepted.
